Office cleaning schedules that work for small teams

Daily wipes versus weekly deep cleans — how to match frequency to footfall without paying for work you do not need.

Office cleaning in a West Yorkshire workplace

Most offices we clean in Huddersfield and Leeds sit somewhere between five and thirty staff. They are not call centres with hundreds of desks — they are accountancy firms, estate agents, small legal practices, and medical admin units. The cleaning schedule needs to fit that scale.

Match the visit to when people are actually in

Early-morning cleans work well for offices that open at nine. Crews are in and out before the first emails arrive. If your team works late, an after-close visit avoids bins being emptied while someone is still on a client call.

Friday afternoon visits suit offices that wind down early — kitchens get a proper reset before the weekend and Monday starts tidy.

What belongs on a daily list

  • Empty bins and replace liners
  • Wipe kitchen worktops and sink
  • Clean toilets and refill soap and paper
  • Vacuum main walkways and reception
  • Spot-clean glass on entrance doors

Desks are tricky. Many offices prefer staff to clear their own keyboards and screens. We can include desk wipes on request, but it adds time and cost when every workstation has papers spread out.

What to save for a weekly or fortnightly visit

Hard floors need mopping on a rhythm that matches weather. West Yorkshire winters bring wet boots through reception from October through March — weekly mopping is common in ground-floor units. Upper floors with less footfall can often go fortnightly.

Dusting monitors, skirting boards, and window sills fits a weekly slot. Inside microwaves and the fridge should be done at least fortnightly unless your team is strict about clearing food every Friday.

Quarterly jobs people forget

Chair fabric, high shelving, and behind printers collect dust quietly. Booking a deeper visit every three months — or before a client audit — stops the office looking tired without paying for deep cleaning every week.

Start with a walkthrough. Floor plan, headcount, and kitchen habits tell us more than a generic quote form ever will.
